Blacksmithing, knife making, tool making classes

Due to shop space and availability of equipment all classes are limited to a maximum of 2 students. I am currently only teaching 18 years and older. All classes include all materials and safety equipment. If you would like to visit the shop sometime let me know and we can set up a shop visit.

Blacksmithing Basics

The blacksmithing basics class is a day of instruction and we cover a lot of the fundamentals of blacksmithing, proper hammer technique, tool use, shop safety, as well as work on multiple projects. Please contact me for next available dates for the class.

Class cost is $350/student.

2 Day Introduction to Bladesmithing

In this class we will discuss proper forging techniques, proper tool usage, and we will make an every day carry (EDC) style knife with a 4 - 4.5 inch blade and a wooden handle. You will do all the forging, grinding, heat treating, handle shaping and finishing. We will discuss different types of steel, alloys, materials selection, and design. This class is great for anyone from the beginner, to someone who has some forging skills, and wants to learn to craft a simple, yet durable "brut de forge" style blade.

Class cost is $700/student.
